Preying Mantis Mating - a photo essay...

I saw two mantis mating on my car while driving 50 mph, holding on for their life. I brought them in the car at the stop light then when i got home let them out to continue their process. I grabbed my Macro Lens (Canon 100mm Macro f/2.8) and my Camera and started shooting away and you can see and read my photo essay...

f 11...should give you more depth. try and focus in the middle of the animal...I don't mean the center of the picture but the thickness of the animal...and also keep the camera at the same distance away from the bug, not on an angle like you did here. Then the head on the left is much further away than the end of the one on top and in macro it makes a huge difference.

f 8 gives a great depth I think...for this subject that is the minimum you need
